WOYWW 711 – chaos reigns once again

Happy WOYWW. Here is the mess all over my desk – does it make you feel smug because yours is tidy? Like we are kindred spirits cause yours is the same? Does it horrify you to the point you have to click away, and FAST? Hang in there for the cat photos, if cats are your thing LOL!

Yikes. OK well, to be fair, I did tidy up a bit, more like cleared a space than an actual clear up. I had seen a few videos on YouTube by Diana at Crooked Little Studio where she has a trio of papers placed with tape hinges around her gel plate and she prints here there and everywhere by flipping them in turn onto the plate. I really wanted to give it a go but my own efforts were very bad. Wrong colour choice I think. I shall draw a veil over all but the first couple.

I will try again.

What else? Nothing really, just that Cat is once again warming up to me. Nothing like being the only human in the house for an extended period of time to make a cat want cuddles from you Will she forget me as soon as Son returns? Of course she will! But for now…

I did well last week, getting round to see all of you. With luck it is a trend that will continue! Have a lovely day of desk hopping.

  1. Loved reading all your recent posts about gel plates, stencils and all. Inspiring me to play when I get home!
    Happy WOYWW!

  2. Ah the mysterious three perfect colours…funny how you can end up with a muddy puddle from a combination that looks good in your head and in the bottles! I think the best colour trios I’ve ever seen came from the young woman at Cardio when they used to demo their peg stamps, I reckon she was responsible for ink manufacturers selling trio packs of pre selected colours! No doubt your gel plate pulls will end up in use at some po8nt, and muddy or not, they’ll work by the time you’ve stencilled and stamped over them. Talking of which, that glue gun stencil…FAB U LOUS!! I never see mess when I visit, just work in progress really.

  3. I want to try that technique with the gel plate as well when I can figure out the space I need. Kitty looks happy!

  4. Oh dear, cats can be so fickle but it is always lovely to have a furry baby to cuddle up to you, especially on a cold day like today (it snowed late last night and it’s cold today, double socks on to keep my feet warm).
Sounds like a great idea with the Gelli plate – mine rarely comes out but this is a good idea which I must watch to be sure I have understood and I shall set aside a day of printing soon, maybe not this month but soon. Thanks for the inspiration.
Btw, my colouring is not great, I don’t do all the shades and shadows like others do, wish I had the patience but I don’t.
Have a great week, Hugs, Neet 3 xx

  5. Intrigued by the paper flip thing and hope you have success in getting it working how you want it next time. Loving the kitty – so pretty! and to answer your question – yes I do swim in the snow and ice if I have the opportunity and the right support team – love it (although not for too long!). Happy WOYWW. Take care and look after yourself. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx

  6. Hi MaryAnne – just savouring the results of my massage – sitting here with a coffee and my heated jacket on!! She told me my shoulders are really hard. Yep, that’s why I’m here. Might go again next week. I think that is a very good attempt at a tidy desk – any space at least 12″ x 12″ qualifies for me!! I’m not sure the faff of sticking hinges on things would make that system worthwhile for me, but hen the gelli plate has seen the light of day for a year!! WOYWW. love n hugs Cindyxx #13

  7. My mess is bigger then your mess but I don’t have a cat so you win! 😉

  8. Read this just before I went to sleep so did not respond earlier.
I like that idea of having ‘flip’ pages round the gelli plate, could give even more of an assortment. I usually do one print off at a time but having three to choose from . . . MUST give this a try.

  9. Good morning Mary Anne, kindred spirits definitely 🤣. I like that idea of continually adding until you are satisfied with the result. You will miss the cat won’t you – enough to get one of your own? Happy WOYWW. Angel #12

  10. Your Cat looks very relaxed and happy. Bella and Gracie send purrs.
It’s only through experimenting and finding out what doesn’t work that we find something new, don’t you think?
I try to keep things in their place but I’m hopeless at it.
    Take care and happy WOYWW

  12. Cute cat pics, nice to know you’re useful eh?! 😉. The technique sounds useful, hope you have fun with the next colour choices!
    Hugs LLJ 7 xx

  13. Kindred spirits~!! At least you had time to clear it up and start a new project. Oh yes those cats can melt your heart, and get their way. I loved your post below also, haven’t done that for a long time. I always love the results. Enjoy a great weekend. Happy WOYWW

  14. That sounds like an interesting technique and I’d love to see how you progess with it, That is one comfy kitty too. Sending hugs and best wishes for a happy woyww, Angela x11x

  15. the paper flip thing sounds a good idea (if you have space round the plate) so I am sure you will keep going with it. The only reason I’ve never used my gelli plate is not having enough space for it… I really must organise a proper desk (also my knees are protesting!) Happy WOYWW Helen #1

  16. Sounds like a fun gel plate technique Mary Anne. Hope you get it to work how you like it next time. Meow to the cat. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
