WOYWW 702 – time rolls onward!

Happy WOYWW to everyone! I don’t want to curse it, but I have been really good about getting around to every desk and commenting where I can. Whoop Whoop! I was really bad for a few hectic weeks but as we settle into a rhythm it is getting better. I will add a photo of Darling Daughter at her Skate London Synchronised Skating Competition at Ally Pally from early this week, as once again they won gold – to be fair, they were the only disability group competing, but one day they will hopefully have some competition.

And one day I may share a decent cat photo but not yet. I go looking for her when Dear Son is gone, and when I find her, it is like so:

She liked to slide between the bed topper and the duvet and hide from us. One day I hope she will be happy to come play. She dips into my craft room, has a little look around, then runs away. Ah well…some people say I should be happy about that, lest I find paw prints on my gel plate one day.

My desk is not amazing this week. I have a selection of papers, ready to create inserts for my traveller’s notebook that will house monthly journals next year.

and I think I have settled on this combo for the first one!

They go nicely together, I think, and while they are not super winter-y I do like them both a lot. And I have a tentative option for the second one as well. I have a lot of proper decent weight ones for the covers, but fewer light weight sheets for the inside backers. I might try pulling 2-sided prints at some point, we’ll see.

Hard to see but the cover one is an experiment from a YouTube for making a rusty effect. That was using a trowel on a canvas, and I was trying to convert it to something done using the gel plate. It wasn’t too bad in the end. I’ll share what it ends up like when I finish it!

So have a great desk-hop day. I’ll be celebrating my birthday in the middle of two WOYWWs and on a day I don’t usually blog. Lucky timing, that! LOL!

  2. ooh congrats to your daughter and her team. Loving the pages, especially the darker green one. Also loving your more recent updates with the use of hubbies tea bags! Genius idea.

  3. Congratulations to your daughter and the rest of the team. I’m certain those fold medals were well earned. Silver, our extremely photogenic kitten, just has to see me with my phone in hand and she’s off too. I’ve learned to be sneaky, and fast! I like all your gelli prints and the green is perfect winter duo. Hope you’re having a great week. Elizabeth x #18

  5. Happy Birthday when it arrives.
How wonderful the skating team did so well – which one was your daughter’s team – guessing the red and yellow as the other only had one girl in it. She must be chuffed!
Lovely papers – look forward to them being used.
Funnily enough we talked on Saturday about the games you could make with this particular die we used – matching and things like that for a child

  6. Forgot to wish a happy birthday x

  7. The cat will settle down eventually. It’s been quite an upheaval for him/her. Congratulations on your daughter’s skating. It’s good not having competition in the early days, takes some of the pressure off. It must be quite a daunting experience. Do you regularly keep your journals? I think I will do one each year, but it never really gets off the ground. Happy WOYWW. Angela #10

  8. Happy birthday when it arrives Mary Anne. I can’t remember if I sent you to the Battersea link for making a cat hideaway from a cardboard box and a t- shirt. It’s well with giving a cat their own hiding place. It’s on this page:
Treats such as Dreamies are a big help too. I got ours used to me by reading to them from Old Possum’s book of Practical Cats and feeding thrrm Dreamies.
    Good luck!
    Take care and happy WOYWW

  10. Oh many congratulations to your gal for winning the Gold, it’s a real achievement, well done her and the team!! Is the cat with you for ever now or is it just visiting? It’ll get used to you eventually, that’s just typical cat mode! Hope you have fun crafting and enjoy your birthday too, hope you have a great time!
    Hugs LLJ 7 xx

  11. You must be so pleased for your daughter and her team, well done to them all. Loving the new papaers and hope we get to see the next stage, Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x9x

  12. Morning MaryAnne!! I too am hoping to be organised this week getting round. Well tbh there’s not much to attract me away from my desk today its miserable outside!! I love your gel prints, the pink is especially calling to me, probably because it’s nice ands bright on this grim grey day. Personally I wouldn’t wish for the cat in my craft room – mine used to get in all the nooks and crannies and RUSTLE all the time, drove me mad and she quickly got banned!! I had to laugh when I realised the cat photo was the lump under the duvet. Thought yu had lost the plot for a minute. Have a great week, love n hugs, Cindyxx #6

  13. great pages, hope you get the combinations sorted and the journals assembled. Well done to your daughter’s group. Here’s to competition to skate against, but still a great experience. Hope you have a very Happy Birthday . Helen#1
