The bits are mostly done but what will they BECOME?

3 Comments

You may have guessed, given my little playing card book project from the other week

that the small gel printed pieces were also cards. I mean, I have already ruined the deck as a card deck, so why not go all in? I trimmed them to fit the box from yesterday

and then painted them all with white gesso and then heavy white paint. What a mess it made on my desk! I have more to say on that but I’ll keep to the project for today

I used the technique I keep banging on about (clear gesso and spray ink) pulled with paint once dry on all the cards

and once dried, slipped them into the box.

But now what? I have many ideas.

  • making a set of five 5-page booklets. But what topics? They must be inter-related.
  • make it more like a word-a-day thing, with a little collage or at least focal point on each loose page
  • join them al into quite a long accordion book on a single theme

I could go on, but more options make the choice harder! I think I will ruminate on it for a bit. Maybe go back to an un-shared collage project that got pushed aside. Not sure at this point. I also have to catch up on a Kate Crane class I wasn’t able to do live due to the stupid internet. Really keen on THAT so who knows that you might see next week….

Oh the suspense…

{wink}

  2. Hi Mary Anne
    I’m visiting now I’m back from Wales. I love the swirliness of your cards and box. Their themes remind me of those least worse options cards you used to do.
    Take care

  3. Suggestion. When using gesso or mess stuff I do it on scrap junk mail then just bin it and no messy desk. Love the works at the top. Fun times ..
    Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x
