WOYWW 677 – ATCs in da HOUSE!

Well, it’s WOYWW again and I made it back once more. Phew. The ATCs have begun to arrive, the first one, from lovely Lunch Lady Jan, dropped on my mat well in advance of the day. You can see it there top middle. Such a clever word cloud of all the craftiness we see week after week.

The top left is from Ali – we exchanged digital versions as I wanted to trade but ran out of “real” ones. Luckily we both are big fans of digi so it was a win. Helen’s one completes the top row. Those wacky birds just slay me. I always have to trade with her, even on the rare occasion we aren’t above or below the other in the list. The bottom row is Caro (hers is titled CONNECTIONS and is so sweet!) then relative newbie Tracy (gorgeous card & love the quote) and of course Julia. Her clever wire connecting the houses is WOYWW in a nutshell. Ditto for Cindy’s clever puzzle pieces on a mixed media background to the side. Still a few outstanding but they will get here eventually. One is crossing mine over Australia so it will take a bit for that to arrive. Weirdly, we got no mail delivered today so maybe the postman was having a little break and I will get a few more tomorrow.

My desk shot is boring – I snapped it before I realized two of the cards were still downstairs from the delivery on Monday. I had dragged out my oldest art journal so I could have a go at finishing up the last few blank pages.

I have also been cranking some flat circles on my Addi with an idea to make a blanket. It’s time consuming, but not so much as actual knitting. It’s more an experiment than anything else but I am enjoying the process. It’ll end up being perhaps for the next new family addition. I haven’t snapped photos but I made a dragon and a unicorn that need a few final touches then they will go in the mail back to the USA. I suspect the blankie will be too heavy for that.

Anyway I need to get one more colour that I forgot when I grabbed the yarn last week. Always happens, that. Ah well.

So have a fab WOYWW day and hope to see loads of ATCs on all the desks! One year I might hope to trade with everyone, but this was not the year.

  5. what a lovely lot of ATCs I was all set to trade but computer thought different lol. Great colours of wool. I have so much wool I will have to be 200 years old to knit it all lol take care and stay safe

  6. A lovely crop of ATCs, Mary-Anne. I like your Hexa blanket a lot and look forward to seeing more of it.
I crochet to keep my hands occupied so a machine wouldn’t suit me, but each to their own!
    Take care and happy WOYWW

  7. Happy WOYWW. I am definitely a Digi fan. Been addicted for many years – using software that doesn’t even exist now, but now my preferred go-to is Canva. So simple and I rarely find it doesn’t do all that I need it to do. I do want to get back to doing more Skillshare classes for Procreate and the Affinity Suite, which is one reason why I want to simplify my craft room – less stuff sitting around shouting at me that it is not being used! 9. Hi Mary Anne, lovely to hear from you too! Super ATCs received and I spotted yours too further down your blog, in your wonderful signature style! With regard to the Sleep Book – it’s not your usual ‘don’t look at screens’, etc trivial stuff – it’s a very different psychological approach. He teaches you to accept the possibility that you may not sleep that night – if that’s the case, just have some rest instead of desperately fighting insomnia – and miraculously, more often than not you will actually get some sleep! The more you fight against insomnia, the stronger it grips you. This is based on ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and it works with anxiety as well (the two are related, really). If you accept your fears that cause the anxiety, face them and examine them rationally, they will stop affecting you eventually. Fascinating stuff! Hope you have a good week! xx zsuzsa #19

  10. I think your circle blanket will be lovely, I have seen some on Pinterest. Lovely ATC’s from the Group. Love those birds from last post too. Happy WOYWW. Angela #16

  11. Love the birds in the previous post! The AT s have been inspiring once again haven’t they, so clever. I’m a bit fascinated by the blanket idea, and loving the yarn colours. I sent one of Annie’s Memory Bears to my sissy in Idaho this week, I don’t know what it weighed but they aren’t heavy and it cost over £10, so am confident that the blanket may well ah e to wait for someone to take it over for you! Interesting comments about Digi, it’s not that I’m not a fan, it’s that I don’t know how and am not even sure we have decent enough equipment!

  12. That is a great collection of ATCs Mary Anne, bet you’re pleased with those and look forward to seeing the development of the blanket too. Sending woyww hugs, Angela x14x

  13. I put second class stamps on my ATC envelopes but the Royal Mail must have been on overdrive cos they all arrived early, lol!! Love the colours of the yarn on your desk and all the little circles lined up, a quick way to make a blanket! I admire the fact that you made a unicorn, you must have some patience!
    Hugs LLJ 6 xx

  15. It is going to be a great week for sure, seeing all the atcs arriving. I’m hoping I get the push to get back doing other crafting as I haven’t done any for ages. Happy WPYWW Helen #2
