Super short WOYWW today – stupid car needs to go in for a repair. Pah! Still playing with the art journal thing. not a lot of progress but I am enjoying the process anyway.
I wonder – regarding my musing of yesterday, about facing pages needing (or NOT) to coordinate, should the page I am working on, with these colours
and which is starting out as this
have been placed further away from the first page, that looked like this?
What do YOU think?

I think they’ll look good side by side!

As an art-journaler I say each page can stand on its own ~ or can blend in communion … depending on how I’m feeling and what my Muse suggests in the moment. As this page of yours affirms ~ Just Play! 😀

Loving the purples and thinking they look great next to the other page.
Happy WOYWW!

Lovely page, the journal is definitely coming together

Hey! It is your journal! Play safe (for you), or go wild!! Hehe both are awesome colourful pages!

I like your pages! I don’t know anything about art journalling other than you are just supposed to do whatever comes to you so I guess if you want it to match then match it but if not don’t 😉 #35

I happen to think that purple/lilac and turquoise/aqua are great together but like everyone has been saying, it’s your journal, you only have to make you happy. In my journal I have some similar colour palettes on adjoining pages and some clashing palettes on adjoining pages, it just depends on my mood on the day.
Happy Wednesday

I’m guessing it’s what ever works best for you in a journal seeing it’s for you to enjoy the most 🙂 hugs Nikki 20

Hi Mary Anne, thanks for swinging by my blog earlier..I have a thing about hexagons, x4 punches, a set of dies, 2 embossing folders, now a promarker stand!! Its an obsession methinks. Purple is my fave colour, love, love, love the first page of your journal. I wish I was as talented when journalling. Cx #18

Mary Ann
I just wanted to say a quick thank you for the idea you put on my blog today …… Great idea, don’t know why I didn’t think about doing it ….. That’s one of the many great things about joining in this!

Loving the purply page – and it would look fab next to the green one as well. Very nicely done!

No rules!! Who cares if they clash? Be a rebel :-). I love that bright purple, I think it’ll go brilliantly with the green 🙂
And I love your suggestion of drinking more in order to make a wine rack….as I don’t drink Scotch, my husband will be very happy at the thought of 19 more bottles!!!

Personally, I love those two colours together…
Lovely busy desk -= have fun!
Thank you for already visiting, and for your encouragement over the needle felting. I thought maybe a little machine stitching would delineate the rocks. It’s supposed to be ferns in the crevice of a rock face…. Have to say, hubby is thrilled with it, too.
Have a great week.

Love the colours and that magenta is luscious! Sometimes my pages co ordinate but often not. It is a personal choice of mine not to worry too much and to try see single pages as stand alone pieces. But that is me and I know it drives some of my other creative friend’s crazy. Stick to what feels right for you.

If it’s just for your enjoyment then don’t worry! You can do just whatever you fancy … I must admit I like doing a double page in mine so that stops the issue on the colours on the next page! I will show my journal next week I think

Oh I am so with you here… I do usually do a double page in my journal, as sometimes find they look odd if they don’t match… but hey, it’s meant to be FUN! Loving the magenta/purple shades.. can’t wait to see more. Helen 23

Maryanne, it’s an art journal…no rules, just go for it, girl!! Don’t over think it…just create what rocks your world. Never mind what anyone thinks. Hang on, what does it say on that first page? Hmmmmm…..Enjoy!! I can’t wait to see more, you are so bloody talented

You put those pages wherever you want. It is your journal/work/art.

Personally, I feel that whatever makes YOU happy is what you should do with your journal. It’s yours, and you have only you to make happy with what you do to your journal. If you think you are going to stress over the two colors being on pages next to each other, then change it. If you like what it is looking like together, keep it. I, personally like the two colors together so I’d continue as is and just go with the flow.
I look forward to seeing what you do with the page, and if you are going to be satisfied with leaving it or not.
Thank You for sharing your journey on this journal. I’ve been taking notes, and when I am settled in a new place, I am going to make one.

First, this is YOUR journal and it has to make YOU happy. Second, I like the two backgrounds together, but not sure the red in “Just Play” won’t clash with the lovely magenta. I have faith that you’ll figure it out, though. No number yet, I’ve just jumped the gun because I saw you had already posted.

I think the contrast will be great! I look forward to seeing what you do with that rich color…

No. I think they would be very good together
