New and Improved Standing Box!

I’ve been working out the details and creating a PDF – I hope it’s clear!

You will note the longer flap – that means piecing that bit, but with standard paper size it’s unavoidable.  Even using 12 x 12 paper (which is less than 1/2 inch taller than A4) it can’t be any bigger.  I’m working on an easy way to do a thicker box (so you could make the hanging pages with dimensional elements on them and fit more that 2 or 3 in the box!) but it’s math and I am a bit math challenged.  I also don’t want a lot of piecing, so it’ll take me some time.  I’ll get to the YouTube thingie as soon as I find the time.

The closure is also different, and how the brad hanger works.  Not a lot, but def. better.

You can see how the brad slips through the hole in the flap – with the flap tucked under the half-stuck circle stack it holds the box closed nicely.

The brad strip also tucks under the circles.  You can also change the position of the brad to higher up, so the brad falls in a better place depending on your “pages” so it interferes with the overall look of the page as little as possible.

The added benefit is with the brad holder across the top it also holds the contents inside.

The only change I might make is to add a thin strip from front to back at the bottom.  There is nothing to hold the pages inside the box as the flap stays loose to make the stand.  I’d just add it under the decorative paper on the front and crease then stick it on the back, like a U.  I suppose I am being pernickety, but that’s just me.

So if you have a go, do comment with a link.  I am always interested in how people use my ideas.  I would LOVE to see any you make!

Now, crop cooking and packing.  Have a great weekend!
