Standing folder – calendars, mini-book, whatever!

It feels like I have been working on this one, quietly, in the background, for AGES.

You’ll have to bear with me for a bit while I write-up the instructions and/or do a YouTube doodah with the photos, but here is what it is:

Closed up, as I imagine it will be presented:Open the flap

Fold the back and slip it under a loose strip and pull out the hanger:

and hang the contents!  This could be a calendar card, but it could just as easily be a min-book “page” – so long as you are careful about the placement of the hole for the hanger, you can add photos.  This is the kind of thing I would send to the Grandparents, if I did photos – the case itself could remain the same for a while, but yo could then send just the sheets, with updated photos, as you wanted to.  They could then select the photo they wanted to hang outside, and you can store a number of them inside.

I just used some of my calendar printables, for a quick demo of the concept, but I think I would reduce the size by maybe 1/2, then I could add a photo at the top instead of the paper.  The hanging cards should be about 3 x 4 1/4 to fit.

I’ll see if I took enough explanatory photos and write it up.  I have a PDF of the folder that I will add as well, although my digital drawing skills aren’t up to much, I did make this from the print-out so I know it works.  I did a few things out-of-order, which I will try to address, but  it’s not really very complicated at all, I promise.

Lately, I am focused on display.  To be honest, when I cleaned and re-organized I found I had 30+ min-books, in a basket.  Nice, but who remembers to pull them out and look at them?  So the display-stand mini, and this, are meant to sit up and draw attention, but can be folded away and stored if preferred.

I’ll let you know when it’s up and ready and if you make one PLEASE share it with me.
