Well it’s taken me a while to realize my idea for the current SDC challenge. I had the idea right off, but both figuring out how to make it and finding the time to make it proved difficult. But finally, here it is. What I love about these challenges is that I do really try to challenge myself, in the true sense of the word, by making something that is often a bit OTT, something that, were it not for the challenge I might not bother.
Making this little birdcage (and this is about the third iteration of it, each with different wires and toppers but all with the same basic base) was quite a difficult process, until I resolved to just embrace the wonkiness. Moth Fab from Stampotique and Tim’s wings (which were stamped with Versamark and dusted with Pearl-ex then coated with Rock Candy Stickles, none of which really shows in the photo) made a nice little caged bird, but she has her little suitcase packed and she’s ready to take off, now someone has left the door just slightly ajar…. (not really LOL! I just left a gap in the “bars!”)
It was fun once, but not sure I would rush to make another too quickly.
