Well, I had a mess on my desk at the end of yesterday’s post and now it is all tidy for WOYWW. A bit silly, really, as I will drag BACK out a lot of what was there so I can carry on with my mini.
I used some velcro to stick the two RUB inserts together to make a taller rack for my inks – I also stole a bookcase from the front room so I could move the stamps that were there on to it, gaining back a good bit of desk space. YAY! I shifted the big shelving unit down a bit and re-organized some of the things so they are more like-with-like. Not that you can tell from the photos (nor could DH, who couldn’t see how things had changed)
I am still loving the desk-top sorter units that hold all my alpha-stickers. They are on the shelf just above the small brown boxes.
My mind-map of my room is still sending me to where stuff USED to be, but in time I’ll get comfortable with the new location!
So What’s on YOUR workdesk today?

Wow! that is certainly a tidy place and you’ve done a great job of it. I’m struggling but still managing to stay quite neat after my big clear up and clear out.

WOW, this is fantastic. I am in love with all those plastic containers and shelves. Simply awesome. I know why you are #1. Your name is much easier to type than mine (grin). Happy WOYWW from #2.
A very tidy desk indeed – just like mine – NOT!! Well done on making the no 1 spot this week!
Bernice #9 (I think)
what a lovely workspace you have
I love the units that hold your stamps…wonder what RUB stands for…off to google it!
Really Useful Box
The ink holders are actually meant to have little tiny boxes in each of the 16 compartment, but each compartment holds 4 ink pads and they are under a fiver so way cheaper than some of the storage devices.
Did you find it on google? Maybe only a UK thing.

I found it and thought what a neat idea. Love how they stack!!!
Love seeing the whole room for a change, but what’s the rest of the Walters sign above the door!! Nice tidy desk, I understand the need to tidy it up even if you’re just going to mess it up again!

It’s from when I work at the scrapping mag – they used it as a display at the Ally Pally show and gave each of us our sign when they broke down the display – the rest is just the rest of my name Mary Anne Walters

Wow, some super organisational skills being disayed here! It feels great when you step back and see the nice tidy space….but it feels better messing it up again and crafting!
Kyla #61
Oh, I adore your storage – what a great craft room, you are so lucky. Now, go get your desk messy!!!! Helen, 20
Yep, of all the stuff we use to store things, I think the insides of the RUB for the inks is a miracle of an idea. Your room is looking as if you’re expecting a royal visit! Mind, it will be helpful when you’re packing for crop!
So neat and tidy .and so organized…how I wish I could be like you..and No1 too.
I do know what you mean about ones mind taking you to where things were and time neded to reprogramme.xx #86

An amazing creative space and so many places to put all your supplies, you are so very organised. Strange the patterns that get logged in our brains eh? You will get used to the changes soon.
Have a fun week.

thanks for coming to my messy desk earlier,
it is the red face on the right, if you drop me an email with your address by using my contact tab or subscribe to my mailing list ( right hand side of blog page) I’ll mail you out a postcard version,
I use the mailing list to mail out my artzine so you need to let me know if you do NOT want the zine or you will get it by auto mail merge, (next published in Autumn 2012)…just say if you want he postcard and then ‘unsubscribe’ or mail me that you want taking off the mail list.

I know it’s a bit sad of me but I LOVE all those tidy shelves – they’re just pleasing and you don’t waste time fruitlessly searching for stuff!
Hugs, LLJ #73 xx
I tidied up the coat closet recently (which has no coats, but does have a lot of junk). I hung up some racks so the tote bags and various things could hang nicely and straightened it all out. Even after I pointed it out the hubby still didn’t notice a difference. Yeah, why do we bother?! Oh yeah, for our benefit! I love the tour of your room. All those lovely bins! I want to come poke around and see what there is to see. Judy #139
Your desk is really tidy this week. Nothing like a bit of reorganisation to get the Mojo going.
Happy WOYWW!
Tertia #48
Love your organized space! If all you have to worry about is where you moved it from inside your space you are doing OK. I recently moved out of a house and into a small condo and when I was searching for my 2 ounce paints the other day I knew EXACTLY where they would be in the house but I have no idea where I put them in this condo. I’m sure it will get easier. Happy WOYWW! Tammy #121
Hi Mary Anne
wow! Tidy or what!!! I think you should rename your blog because of trade description! Now that has to be the tidiest desk I’ve seen in some time – but looking around your other posts, it’s comforting to know you’re not one of these crafters who’s too OCD to get it messy at all. But each to their own eh?
best wishes

Wow, what a room, you should never have to shop again and so neat too. #122
Hi Maryanne. Great pics of your organisation. Memory of place is very powerful, and a great incentive for some of us NOT to tidy up too much. I find that labels are important to change the mind map but they make me seem far better organised than I really am.
Cheers, (belatedly)

You look very organized and wowzers you do have a lot of crafty goodies to keep organized! waving the #50 from the hills of North Carolina
what a great space. Love the ink storage and the ready. Rearranging always makes a room look tidy but it does take some getting used to stuff being in a new location. I wish I had gotten my act together this week so I could have played along with WOYWW but am happy to have gotten a tutorial posted this week.
The only time time looks like this is when I am going away on holiday and have had time to purge. Yours looks lovely and it did my heart good to see such a tidy desk.
Wowser, you have really worked your space over-thanks for the inspiration.
Now that is considered cheating if you clean your desk before the photoshoot on Wednesday, you need to show it in full action and messy mode too. I do like your organizational skills. I am also a containers girl and love the drawers on my desk but mine are little and hold some of the essential tools. Thanks for sharing and happy WOYWW

Fabulous space! And so well organized.
I know just what you mean about your mind map. I did a smallish re-org last week and my hands still automatically reach for somethings and they aren’t there anymore, which totally throws me! I don’t know why, after all I’m the one who moved them. lol But your desk is looking very nice, like things are handy but not in your way. I hope that’s the case because then crafting is more fun and goes a little quicker and you turn out great stuff so I need to see more of it!
